Let's take a trip down memory lane and look at fashion and lifestyle from the past! We are showcasing vintage pieces from decades you may know and love.
Everyone has had a windbreaker at some point in their life. It was almost a rite of passage for every teen and young adult to have colorful and geometric clothing in the 80's and 90's. If you couldn't be Kelly from Saved by the Bell, at least you could dress like her, and a patterned jacket was a must. This trend died out in the 2000's, but has since come back with a vengeance, much to the dismay of embarrassed adults who had hoped that their nylon nightmare had been left in the past. Modern fashion, especially for men, consists of muted colors like beiges and browns (thanks, Kanye), so it seems strange that these neon accessories have had a revival amongst the youth. But trust me, these jackets are so cool. If there's any way to spice up your outfit and take it to the next level, a windbreaker is totally the way to go. It's fun to be able to play around with colors and fabrics in such a bold way. This vintage windbreaker is absolutely fabulous! It is turquoise with mauve and geometric patches. The fabric has this marvelous sheen to it that plays with the light beautifully. Even with the age that comes with vintage clothing, the colors are so vibrant, but not too overwhelming. This windbreaker would look fantastic with a white t-shirt or a pair of distressed denim shorts. The best part is that the design allows it to be wearable in different conditions. You could wear it over a crop top or turtleneck, so you definitely get your money's worth. Buying from a vintage shop is also much easier on the budget. Companies try to sell windbreakers for hundreds of dollars (I wish I was kidding), but buying vintage more reasonable and often have the same, if not better quality than their expensive counterparts. You also can't replicate the authenticity of a real 90's windbreaker! Interzone Vntg offers an enormous range of both original and reworked vintage clothing. If you're not ready to rock a shiny neon piece of clothing in public just yet, they have many other jackets and parkas you could choose from!

Imagine sitting by a campfire with family and friends on a beautiful starry night. Do you visualize the sparks in the fire and a marshmallow falling off your tree branch? Perhaps you envision inhaling the sweet smells of the pine trees surrounding your camp domes while sipping on some hot cocoa. And when you awaken, you hear the birds singing and the squirrels hopping from one tree to the next while your friend is cooking up a lumberjack breakfast with spicy brown sugar bacon.
Now, who wouldn't love camping with good company in the great outdoors but what do you typically wear?
Today, we would like to feature Live a Wild Life, an Etsy shop that carries "active and attractive" apparel and accessories for the outdoorsy type. Live a Wild Life shop was established in 2016 by Jenny Christensen, who truly lives a wild life style as a happy camper. Christensen offers wonderfully designed clothing that will not only have you looking great while your absorb your surroundings, but feeling completely comfortable at the same time. Below, we share more about Live a Wild Life apparel and accessories and how Christensen started this fantastic shop:
What inspired you to open your shop?
Less than a year ago, I left my job (and more than two decades in the corporate world) to do something I’d been wanting to do for years: start my own business designing and creating apparel and home accessories. The thought of working for myself sounded absolutely dreamy!
Below are some of the fantastically designed products from Live a Wild Life (click on image for product details)
What is your favorite item?
It really is hard to name a favorite—I truly love all of my designs—but there’s a special place in my heart for my “fired up” shirts. I just have to smile every time I see that design, and it instantly makes me wish I were standing around the campfire with a group of friends!
What is your biggest challenge?
I knew very little about screen printing, fabrics and inks prior to this adventure. There has been a lot of research, a ton of trial-and-error, and some comically epic messes in my home studio as I’ve forged an on-the-job education for myself! Luckily I’ve been able to take full advantage of the expertise and training materials offered by suppliers and vendors, and I have a tremendous group of friends and family to give me feedback and support.
We'd love to encourage everyone to “stay tuned” for more great stuff from Live a Wild Life! Christensen will be unveiling some really slick designs very soon. Follow Live a Wild Life shop below for the latest!
