When you were a child, did you imagine yourself as a princess? Did you picture yourself in a fairytale? Does your daughter do the same?
Today, we are happy to feature Wire Princess, an Etsy bridal and fairytale accessory shop for the girls to make their dreams comes true. At Wire Princess, one can find the perfect accessories that will make you feel like a royal princess. Accessories include wire crowns, wands, masquerade masks, elfin ear cuffs and more.
We recently had the pleasure of featuring this lovely shop on Etsynch and chatted with owner, Melissa Kotewicz. Kotewicz makes each product perfect and pretty for girls all around. She uses permanently colored tarnish resistant brass and copper wire with high quality Swarovski and Czech crystal beads. The metallic wire sparkles in the sunlight, as would any beautiful princess.
Kotewicz, has a true talent in wire wrapping and has always been artistically inclined. We were tickled with joy to learn more about Kotewicz. She shyly states, "I sketched, painted and crafted as a child and as a teenager. High school was when I first attempted to make a wire crown. It was absolutely hideous; I have no idea why I still have it. But it’s just one of those things I seem to keep. In university I found my old dollar store craft wire and beads under my bed. So of course, instead of reading and doing my homework I procrastinated by attempting to make a crown. This was when Wire Princess was born. I began making more styles in more colors. Soon I had about 9 or 10 crowns adorning the top of all the lamps in my mother’s living room and my mom was the one who suggested that I needed to “get them out of her house”. I began looking online for a venue to sell the crowns so that I could keep making them, while also funding this newfound hobby. This is how I found Etsy. Throughout my university years, Wire Princess was just a hobby. I never even imagined I would one day turn it into a business. I used my friends as my models and we had fun with it."
